The Crash story says Sofuoglu is expected to defect to Moto2 - why? and who with? If he couldn't setup a superbike, how would he be any better at setup of a Moto2 bike which is even more adjustable?

the honda he rode in superbike was a beast, all power and no cornering ability, it was only checa that could get it to Win, that year! still that honda squad has setup issues even with the "Boy Wonder" Rea riding the wheels off it. the Moto2 bikes will be perfect for his style - all corner speed. He'll have to ride to the absolute limit to get even a top ten, though

A little fix on that. Kiyonari won races in 2008 WSBK too (2 if I recall correctly). Though you're right about the WSBK style point and shoot riding doesn't suit him. If he gets a good ride in moto2 I think he'll be a regular top 5 contender right away. But he first has to win this years wss title.

Got to hand it to Ten Kate. They are not blindly focused on filling the seats with names that are popular in the press.
Ronan is seriously quick, tallented and tough.A few months back he was doubtfull of ever riding again, let alone racing.
Hope it comes together for him long term. :)

Would like to see Gino Rea get this ride or a ride with Parkalgar Honda, and maybe Ten Kate should have a junior team in WSS like they did at Kylami, with Quarmby and Lance Isaccs in the team.

Ronan is a nice kid, but there are probably 8 South African riders who could peddle that Ten Kate bike faster than him.
Dane Hellyer would be pushing Kenan's times.

@ Greener02 ... Lance Isaacs ... at this level ... are you on drugs?
He is racing a 'Berger spec' Fireblade in SA, & still Sheridan is all over him like a rash. Look at where the Honda is vs the Aprilia in STK1000 results.
Gildenhuys, first time out on the BMW, showed him how to ride fast.

Quarmby has been on a bike for only 4 years and leads the SA Supersport Champs. Was over a second quicker than Isaacs at Kyalami in morning practice. First time back on his Yamaha in 4 months, and with a fractured left ankle, won the "fun" Phakisa superpole - .5sec quicker than the next kid.
Only 19 with very little experience, tough, right attitude, make him a good option to bring into a team as a future winner. Would like to see Ten Kate invest in him !!!
