What a rider! It's a shame he lost 50 almost sure points in Salt Lake City and crashed from 1st place in Valencia... Hope he will fight for the championship next year!

The Ducati seems to suit him much more than the Ten Kate Honda did. 2010 has been surprisingly good for Checa. If he had a bit more luck he would have won 5/6 races already this season! I'm really impressed, because he looked a bit done at the end of 2009.

If he can perform at this level in 2011 he might be some kind of a dark horse. I don't think the private Ducati will help him being a WC contender.

Very good double win on the (according to Ducati) uncompetitive Ducati 1098 (actually 1200cc by the way Ducati) and good results from Haga too lately.

The bike is an 1198, it was only called a 1098 for 2008. Basically the same bike though.

Well said jimmy, who knows how the Championship may have looked going to Imola, had Carlos got more factory support.Somehow feel he'll get a lot more next year although there may only be 2 or 3 Ducs on the grid.

What a great story. That is, Carlos Checa's racing career is a great story and I have nothing but the strongest admiration for the man.

Never seeks self glorification, never has a negative word, never assigns blame for problems that are not his fault like in Salt Lake when the double was his for sure. The man quietly get on with it.

He's a credit to the sport
