WSBK » Laverty kicks off WSBK career in style

The Irishman takes little time to get acclimatised to the R1 as he out paces his rivals in France.

Testing and racing are two totally different things! I have a lot of hope for Haslam and Laverty but it's difficult to judge with only 6 riders times. All in all though it's very impressive and I believe we're in for a cracking good year with WSBK in 2011 despite Ducati pulling out their factory rides. Checa did better than the Xerox Ducati's anyway. Let's also see if a younger rider with skill like Haslam can pull off a BMW win. I can't wait for the new season to kick off :)

Good one Eugene! If you look at the superpole times, Eugene was only 0.3 s slower than toesland.I for one think that this is really really good for a second outing on a new bike!Shure Eugene is full of confidence at the moment and Toesland was nowhere at the end of the year, but still this result is fantastic!
GO one show that the cow of an R1 can go!

Encouraging time for Haslam, on what apparently has been a difficult bike to come to terms with.

I'm excited to see how this team does next year. Corser, old as dirt but chock full to the rafters with experience and development know-how. Haslam, "young, dumb, and full of c*m", gonna wring that Bimmer by the neck.

Can't wait.

I'm a great believer in Eugene's ability but FFS get real. 0.3 secs off Toselands time....it's totally meaningless.

Leave Laverty and all the other Brits alone to do their TESTING. It's neither the time or the weather (even in France ) to be looking at times.

Don't forget that Superpole times are set with qualifiers. Testing times shouldn't be compared with race weekend times, but if you must please compare times to those set on race tires.

Except for Corser they're all on new rides so give them some consideration. That being said the fact that both Eugene and Leon are out pacing Troy who's been riding the bmw for two years and has set some very fast laps - impressive for them both.
