WSBK » REVEALED: Your WSBK Rider of the Decade

With three titles and a victory ratio of one in every three races, Troy Bayliss is the undisputed top rider between 2000 and 2010...

Regis is far more impressive then Xaus, with more (and really beautiful) victories and barely missing a title...
I would rate Hodgson above Toseland but both of them can't come near Biaggi or Corser...

Overall, It shows that people appreciate more the craftsmanship and potential over titles/statistics.
It's surprising, in a good way.

Totally agree that Bayliss should be top. Awesome rider and a real shame that he's retired.
Not sure that Spies should be second though. Don't get me wrong I think Spies was great, but he only rode for one year. If he was consistantly good over 3 or 4 years then that would be different. I think Haga and Biaggi should be above Spies.
All in all though top riders that deserve their place :)

I very rarely feel moved to make a comment, but please this is supposed to be rider of the decade. Ben Spies only competed in one season. Yet double world champion and WSB veteran James Toseland is down the list, why? because he's out of favour at the moment. Hardly a definitive list.

The only thing I agree with is Bayliss deservedly at the top.

I think Toseland has been underrated here based on his 2010 performance, which is slightly unfair. People seem to forget he is a double world champion and didn't finish outside the top 5 in the championship between 2004 and 2007 which is quite a feat. I agree with Bayliss top however I'd have put Nori Haga second followed by Corser (people seem to forget his 2nd place in the champs in 08) then either JT or Ben Spies, Ben Spies would only be ranked higher because of more race wins.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

@52FTW

Your kidding right?! You say Toseland is underrated and than go and make your list - without Edwards! How can anyone take you seriously?

It's a farce for people like you to keep harping on JT being up in the rankings yet leaving Edwards out who has more wins, more poles, and more fastest laps between 2000-2002 than JT has in 7 years! What Edwards did in 3 years JT STILL hasn't done yet you rank him higher? So how does that make any sense?

I think that Spies' achievements are just outstanding. He came, he saw, he won. Was he just lucky, or is he really a born 'MotoGP' rider, a level above all WSBK guys? I'd like to see him stay in WSBK longer - and compete against Baylisstic. My personal list is 1. Bayliss, 2. Spies, 3. Edwards, 4. Corser, 5. Haga. Many of you would place Haga even on 2nd place. But every other rider is a world champion, Haga missed on so many occasions, he just lacks something. He's a living legend, it's undisputable but a World Championship title would increase the value of his career much more.
