Though weather hampers his mileage, Vermeulen is satisfied with the progress of his knee.

"He has already missed 2nd day of testing due to his knee. He wont ride this year i dont think"

That would be a shame to end a career that way. For his mental health alone I hope he is able to compete this year.

@ valencia2006

Disagreed with you with regards to the Syksie comment. Tom has proven he can run at the front (Imola 2010) on a even playing field (all teams virtually 0% practice time).

Furthermore Tom has had the most experience on the new bike and has been riding competetively for the past 6 months and is 100% fit.

Even if, on record, Vermeulen is the better rider Tom is no slouch either and given the past 6 months Tom is in a better position to beat Vermin.

Let me just say tho - I am a big fan of both riders - Vermin was awesome on the Ten Kate

Max - where did you get your info?

In todays MCN Paul Bird says Vermeulen may not be fit for the opening round - also the team only have 4 bikes not 6 for the 3 riders.

Today (12th) is due to be a rest day with more testing on 13th and 14th.

Steve Jackson is right - the rider in the picture looks porky enough to be Karl Harris - if that is Chris Vermeulen, carrying that amount of lard around isn't going to help his knee recover!
