WSBK » Xaus: Never any doubt I'd be on the grid

Having secured himself what is arguably one of the plum seats on the World Superbike Championship grid in 2011 at Castrol Honda, Rubén Xaus reveals that he was never unduly concerned that he would not be racing this year...

ive said it before,
2many riders are past there best of date in this championship. Im surprised at honda for not wanting to bring on another young fast rider, building for the future, JR will do the job this year, without doubt, Xaus, well 2 maybe 3 good races and for the rest he will be on his ****.
I hope im wrong, i dont like to see anyone crash at any time.
Come on JR !

A couple of years ago when Ruben was out of a ride he paid for his own Ducatis out of his pocket and went racing like the privateers who race on the roads and club race. He could have sat on his money but he didn't because he wanted to race. I respect that.

Xaus rides on aggresion like rea does and both are always on it. I think he will fall off it but also think he could be suprise of the season of the season.

A bit surprised he got this ride really, he falls off far too often, so I think he either rides to quickly for his talent, or lacks concentration. Also would have thought some fringe MotoGP-ers would have begged WSBK rides so as to get some experience on 1 litre bikes before the MotoGP class goes that way and the teams would have had them before the likes of Xaus, who is past his best. Anyway, I think it could be a lean year in MotoGP, a good top half dozen, then nobody, so WSBK could be the top class for 2011 as far as through the field quality and entertainment value is concerned.

Ruben is worth his weight in gold for entertainment value alone . Not to mention he's way faster than any of us mortal, stroke off lurkers . So what if he falls alot , he gets back up up and hauls ass. How many of the haters do that ? Most of us fall and get skeered ( 'merican term )WSBK is better off with him than without . Give 'em hell Xaus .

Don't forget Ruben won the first WSBK tests and he said he feels like he was born for CBR. So maybe there is an interesting season for him (and for us fans of course) ahead.
