Checa, Guintoli and Smrz prove Ducati's privateer contingent will be just as capable as its former factory effort.

I wasn't sure the full factory BMW was a good choice for Leon let alone a privateer one for James. The bike hasn't won a race yet so couldn't get my head around Leon's decision. Hope i'm wrong mind.

Nori's time is not great but then again nor is the other Leon's on the Aprilia, although Biaggi is showing that it has some pace.

Phillip Island has and always will be a Ducati Track with its low down thump from its V-Twin and stability on its side through the long corners hence they occupy the top 3 slots. QTyre or not checa has always been good here and last year proved that. This race like Qatar is never indicative of the season but it can be seen that some people are much further away than they should be (Honda/BMW) and others seem more ready (Ducati/Biaggi/sykes). Lets hope Leon has not made a mistake and JT is not headed out of WSB, but not a great start for both for sure.

Still tomorrow to come and the weekend with our first race in anger of 2011...Cannot WAIT!!!

Dear Checa,

I will not be surprised when you win races this year, I also won't be surprised if you win the title or a bridesmaid to it because of consistency .

I'm not your biggest fan, but you will forever have my respect.

Checa will always be a dangerous man.
