BMW Italia will return to full strength at Assen with Barry Veneman getting a long-awaited WSBK chance in place of James Toseland.

As a Dutchman i'm happy that barry will get a start at assen. He is a decent rider but like many Dutch riders he has a problem at getting sponsors, something that is easier if you are from Spain,Italy or Great Britain..

Looking foward to his return to the paddock, he had some very good rides on the Alpha Tecknik BMW last season. Also the IDM isn't full of nobodys, some very fast boys on quick bikes there i.e. Muggeridge and Bauer.

Sounds like a logical choice.

very unlikely that JT will be back at Monza - he says in yesterdays MCN that his pins will be removed one week before the race - therefore can't see him being fit enough.

Veneman could be on the bike for an extra round - unless there is an equally well qualified Italian available.

Sensible replacement, all the best to a guy that needs a decent break..perhaps JT was thinking the team would want a big name to fill his void and that a big name would be a threat longer term. They don't have to look too far afield to fill JT's boots nowadays..
