Biaggi led by more than five seconds when he cut the chicane, crossing a white lane that marks a safe entry passage back onto the circuit.

now i realise max certainly did not gain an advantage, then i have to say this ruling is a p*ss taking penalty of the highest order..... gigi is right to express anger at this "ultra nobbling" of an almost certain win for max who was riding fantastically and showed character in bouncing back from race 1 disappointment to fight to take the lead in race 2... discretion should have been applied like in other sports such as olympic lifting or tennis etc., this seems a tight ar*ed petty judgement.. respect to haga btw!... camier -oh dear, nearly there...

This has got to be the worst decision ever taken by a governing body in motorsport. Many times I have watched how riders in MotoGP (Rossi) for one punting off riders (Gibernau) more than once, some years ago, amongst others (Stoner) only recently, without any penalty. Now surely this kind of riding has to be more dangerous??? Now they say he was not penalised for gaining time, but for crossing a line that ensures riders safety... What riders??? He was 6 sec clear of anyone... This is truly a crock!

I'd like to know exactly WHEN the mistake happened.

Steve Martin had just commented on how Max had just done a 1.44.8 - a second slower than the guys behind - when the TV pictures went to the images of Biaggi running straight through the chicane.

Were those live pictures or was that a reply of the incident that caused him to be 1 sec slower?

Race control should have let the race run & investigated it properly afterwards.
It's pretty hard to unscramble an egg.

If he was a second slower because he realised the mistake & sat up losing a second (as other riders had done without any further penalty), then he was very harshly treated.
