Much as I wish that CV would get back to his previous form, I think that he really needs to bite the bullet and withdraw from racing until he is properly fit. Occasionally trawling around at the back of the field is doing his reputation no good. John Hopkins has got on with rebuilding his career and CV can do it do, Paul Bird needs to have a frank discussion with him.

Sorry to say this about any rider, even Vermeulen but I think the writing is well and truly on the wall here!! That injury of Chris's looks to be a career ender for sure, nearly 2 full seasons out is a long time and one can only guess that the Cost of contract is the reason this is going on, Expect a Olivia Jaque announcement soon as Kawasaki test rider!!

Sorry Chris great, great rider just unlucky!!

Vermeulen is clearly a talented rider, but after all that's gone on it's time his head started listening to his body and withdrew from the sport for the sake of his future health and mobility

Chris is in age when Troy Bayliss began his world championship career. So I think he can rest for a year or two, properly prepare and then try to rebuild his career. He has still some 10 years to proper retirement,

This is all beginning to sound like the preamble to an enforced early retirement, sad to say.

You would think the Japanese bosses at Kawasaki are going to say enough is enough at some point and begin looking for a capable and fully fit 3rd rider.

The facts are Chris's knee injury is now finally close to recovered, but the fresh gash in his elbow has put him back a couple of weeks. So no reason for Chris to be considering retirement right now. Unless the bad luck fairy sh!ts on him again there's no reason he can't be racing at Misano.
