Something has got to change at Ten Kate as this year appears to be ANOTHER wasted year for the team.

These up and down results stem from either - a number one rider incapable of giving good feedback (though i doubt this as Johnny has beaten every teammate in WSBK), a team that no longer knows how to give its riders a bike which is consistently good and/or the RR8 version of the Fireblade is absolutley sh*t at world championship level.

I think Johnny Rea is a very talented rider who should be fighting consistently for podiums and wins EVERY weekend but it's just not happening. This situation cannot go on for another year. SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE.

As good a team as Ten Kate is i think theyre operation is going backwards atm, even their supersport team is in decline. I just dont see Johnny Rea consistently fighting at the front without a greater factor presence (HRC maybe?).

As for the CBR itself its a good bike on its own with championships wins last year in British superbikes, Australian superbikes and IDM (german superbikes) and its always up there at the Isle of man TT. even in stock form it competes up the front in the Superstock 1000 championship against the likes of the more powerful BMW machine too so its not all bad. I just think that HRC defintely need to step in otherwise ten kate seem to have run out of ideas with the current bike, maybe theyre waiting for the all new bike to come out in 2012?

It seems obvious to me that there is no harmony in this team anymore. no happy smiling faces like the good old days when JT was there. they should sack both riders and employ the Lowes twins, then there would be youth and passion running through the team. Rea seems to be intent on furthering his own ego with no thought for others at TenKate. Stressed out all the time moaning and groaning about everything. this team are renowed for their ability to produce a great engine so what is wrong ???

@iRONIC

They already sacked everyone who hasn't already left!

Checa has had nothing but success after leaving Ten Kate. Kiyo has went back to BSB and won another title - on a Honda.

As you said the team is renowned for producing a great engine - but so is BMW and how are they fairing? This team has had set up issues for the last couple of years and haven't been able to solve them. As someone said earlier, the bike has had success in various different championships. Byrne looked unbeatable on the BSB bike this past Monday. After you sack all the riders, change over the suspension company and the like, there is nothing or anyone else to blame except the team and how they build the bikes.

only Toseland won something but it was previous CBR 1000 RR, this bike had built inline with first disastrous RC212V incarnations and still sharing some disadvantages with those. I hope Honda will show new CBR 1000 soon. They need to go back to basics (V4?)

@ legit

i remember hearing on the commentary at the assen round that there are a couple of HRC mechanics that work at Ten Kate this year. Apparently they were spurred to join the team by the Castrol partnership this year

i said at he start of the season,this team needed to concentrate on wsbk only,like all the other teams,and put all the effort into reas/xaus challenge,they nearly did,then they decided to run 6oos again, and now they have two half baked efforts, and everthing including cash is spread to thinly,while aprilla,yamaha etc put all their efforts into wsbk only,they just cant compete at this new level anymore ,doing it like that,the bikes not great as we all know,but it should not be that far away at some tracks,it is not good enough,rea embarrassed checa when they were team mates,look at checa this year ??
