Have to admire Checa for being so strong in tracks where Ducatis were thought to have an disadvantage.. But Smrz too on top confirms that the Ducati engine have found some power at the top end.. Have to watch out for the Yamahas though.. They look to be the greatest threat, as of now... I think Brno will be a rocking race..

If you read the story Alex crashed out. The guy has raw talent - just has to figure out how to stay on.

Also he is riding a kwak each meeting this year, as well as being bait shorter than JR. The first session would have been just getting the bike comfortable!

an absolute run away by max and the aprilia last year a great rider on the fastest bike. no calls of ruined championships due to the obvious advantage he had.so far checa has done very well but it isnt over with twelve races still to go.if carlos wins he will most definately deserve it.

Let's agree to disagree. You can't compare Biaggi to Checa. Do a little history search. And aprilia wasn't necessarily a newcomer to road racing either and it was just a question of time when they'd start piling up the wins. Did they build the best bike? Unarguably. Did they need an extra 200cc and a weight advantage? NO. Was the gear driven camshaft illegal? NO. Why not? See Kawasaki ZX7RR back in the day and read last year's rule book. Now Checa on the other hand has been a grid filler for most of his life and now that he's riding an absolute rule benefited bike all of the sudden he's world class? Checa is the oldest Elias I've ever met.

Just to refresh a few memories there were actually plenty of people on here repeatedly quoting , amongst others, Ben Spies' quote (I think) that Aprilia had a MotoGP bike in WSBK. So plenty of people were bleating about it. Best thing Ducati did was to get rid of Haga and Fabrizio - see 'fading star' and 'occasional flash in the pan'.
These days Carlos is a well rounded, experienced racer enjoying his chosen career and is riding as well as he ever has and there are grids full of guys on their best presented bikes determined to dislodge him from the front every other week.
If you believe the 200cc 'advantage' from a crappy old twin wipes out the Fantastic Fours then you dont understand the different characteristics of the bikes and what they each offer.
Monza ring any bells?
Honda SP-1, Aprilia RSVR, Suzuki TL1000R, Bimota SB8R, Harley Davidson VR1000R and even the Mondial Piega. All either had a go at creating a '4' beater or intended to and then decided it was too hard and did it d
