He is impressive and will be fine as long as he does not join the factory team. BMW needs to realize that their software is garbage. Haslam is leaving and Corser might retire so BMW will be looking for two riders. So far, they are the Pramac team of WSBK and anyone who joins them will be doomed.

Blaming software is the easy option, the problem is more likely to be with rider input, Corsers return possibly to concentrate on development could be the answer. As BMW Italia will also be running BMW electronics it would seem rather irrational to blame the factory. There may be a communication failure between rider and team. Badovini come across as a very organised rider who is fast and reliable as his performance in Superstock 1000 last year showed. Compare and contrast how relativly less successful the BMW riders in the class are this year. Ayrton also seems reluctant to toss the bike up the road very often which a factor in his success last year and this.

BMW Italia is running Magnetti Marelli electronics and this is the reason for their success. Badovini is a good rider, but I do not think he is better than Haslam. Apparently, Haslam requested to test Badovini's bike because BMW factory is lost in the woods.

Badovini is doing well this season, better then i thought he would actually. I would have liked to see what a fully fit Toseland could do too. The only full race weekend that JT has had was using the bike in 'more or less superstock spec) in the very first round.

Regarding Badovini getting the factory seat next year, well i think its safe to say that move would not be wise judging by the state of the factory team/bike at the moment. Haslam has proved that he can win races if the bikes good (ish), and i dont think for one minute that Badovini is a better rider than Haslam right now. That said, it would be interesting to see them both in the same team.

Neil, the factory team's best data guy is now in the BMW Italia squad so the factory team are lacking a bit there. Also, the factory seem obsessed with electronics and development on the race weekend as opposed to listening to Haslam and Corser and giving them what they want and working on race setup.

Sacking Tardozzi and cleaning out the team seems to have been the beginning of the downward spiral. Kawasaki are a better team than the factory BMW, look at Sykes!
