Sign of the times I expect, and a very sad day for our sport. Just hope that without the commitment to racing that they keep enough customers to warrant spending the money saved on. I suppose one could argue the cost of an R6 could drop by a couple of grand ?? yeehaaaaa

Probably because despite their doing well in WSB sales of the cross plane R1 road bike are probably the lowest for any supersport - which given their price and the quality of the competition isn't really that surprising.

I hope Yamaha manage to pull their nose up out of this economic dive thay're in.

@Yamy01 This Ducati Cup Sucks

Have you not noticed that without a certain Carlos Checa onboard the other Ducati's would be nowhere. Reminds me of when people used to moan about a certain Mr Fogarty winning all the time and the other duke riders were scrapping for 7/8th. Kinda makes you realise what a bit of talent can do !!!!

i am absolutely gutted. i cant believe this has happened to marco melandri and eugene laverty. Surely yamaha had an idea last week when they re-sign marco!!!??? He had this before when he went to kawasaki and that was hayate...him and eugene are top class just gobsmacked and furious...unbelievable.. this is how they mark the 50th anniversary of yamaha in sbk...words fail me :(

This is a ****in ****, I can't believe that this could happen. I feel sorry for Marco because he is the most unlucky, also Laverty who showed that is a strong rider. The most dissapointed news in last months.
