Castrol Honda has suffered a difficult 2011 season with Jonathan Rea beset with injury woes, while Ruben Xaus has struggled to get to grips with the CBR1000RR.

He's not giving much away there then !! So are we to assume that Rea will be there next year and his motogp ambitions are now behind him for the time being ?? And no mention of a second rider either ?? Who ever it is they will need to bring a cart load of cash with them.

Rea won't be on Honda in MotoGP next season cause they field only 4 bikes. For Stoner, Pedrosa (Repsol), Simoncelli or someone else (Gresini) and Dovi (LCR).

I think the LCR line up depends a lot on Bradl. Dovi looks a cert for one of the spots (on a factory-supported bike) but if Bradl chooses Honda over Yamaha, then that's probably the LCR team for 2012.

If Bradl chooses Tech 3 however (an offer is reportedly on the table), then a spot at LCR might be available. That's IF Marc Marquez doesn't want to make the step up with Honda next year, and IF Hopper signs with Suzuki instead of LCR. Because I think both of those riders would be ahead of JR in the pecking order for a ride.

Never understood why Rea didn't go the Moto2 route. He had an excellent debut year in WSS on the Ten Kate bike and would've picked up a wealth of GP experience by now.

Rea's 24 years old and if he's not in GP's next year - even if via Moto2 - i just don't see him making it there at all because of the talent that will be available to teams from Moto2, unless of course he has a championship winning year in WSBK in 2012. But will the new Fireblade be good enough?

Rea's a talent for sure, i just feel another year not on the GP scene is another year wasted. Good luck to him whatever he decides to do though.

well there is the loyalty thing with honda,apparently if he stuck with the blade in wsbk,they promised him something nxt year,(that was before the quake,and cost cutting measures),he had 5 days testing stuff on stoners bike,so there might be something in there for him,or it might be a case of the updated blade in wsbk again,or leave honda,tough economic times in the m cycle world to come,with rossi changing things at ducati,they should have a decent gp bike in a season or so,so a wsbk ride with ducati would be a smart move for a young rider right now

Well its gonna be ineresting. Honda postponed release of the new models by a year because of economic crisis. So there should be a new 600 next year and a new Fireblade in 2013. I wonder how Ten Kate manages to stay competitive next season in Superbikes with this old turd.

It seems like Bradl won't be on Yam. I guess it was David Emmett who said Edwards in Tech3 for 2012 is a done deal. He will help with the development of a 1000cc. Crutchlow will get the second year it's without doubt. At the same time Motosprint.it writes that Colin and Cal are both out of contract so the situation is still open at Tech3.

Bradl will be either at LCR or at his present team, but in both occasions under Viessmann backing. So we might see 5 Hondas on the grid, but nothing is decided yet. And I fear there is no place for Rea as the rumors suggest he's searching for a new ride in WSBK.

And yes, Marquez definitely stays in Moto2 for next year and Hopper won't be signed by LCR.
