consider the following: out of the 22 races this year Checa has won 12, which is 54,5% and all other riders combined won 45,5%. now the cases are two either Checa is much better than everybody else or 200cc is too much advantage for the twins.

Agreed Racer 50, fantastic season for the old dog.

But.... that Ducati needs no such advantage. The whole argument for the whopping extra 200cc (+20%) is that the Ducati is 'the slowest bike' because of it's speed trap figures.

This is an unfair perspective, speed is how fast it can get around the whole lap. The other benefits of the twin such as it's torque and consistent stability (simplified less spinning bits/firing order/tyre wear) all add up to a 'fast' bike anyway - it seems grossly unfair to then give it the extra top-end on top of these factors.

The CC limit should be the same for all bikes. This is a production based series. If Ducati cannot build a good enough road bike or race bike on an equal footing then they should not take part.

Be interesting to see how their stressed air box SBK goes :D

Ducatis are for mugs.

@ Ape fan

Cant agree more. If given equal bikes, i reckon he'd show Max a thing or two. Just dont think camier suits the bike. I do think he'd ROCK on a Suzuki or a Kawasaki. Even a yam.

Such a pity about Sykes' tyre choice. His first race was gr8 and was so upset when he never made podium, but he have king carlos a real run.
I say again, Sykes is WAY ABOVE AVERAGE.

@ Donny Hit the nail on the head. I take NOTHING away from Checa, he's ridden a fantastic reason. But too much emphasis is put on the top speed. Thanks to the v-twin, the mechanical grip is WAY ABOVE the i4's. Hence higher corner speed. They Also have more accesscable power and torque. The only tracks Where they were really at a disadvantage this year, were monza and aragon. At monza, checa wasn't even that badly off the pace, and he's currently on a 1098. Next they'll have 100cc MORE! If you cant compete with the same capacity, build a different platform! Though i guess it's easier to complain until you're given what you want. You dont see the triumphs in supersport asking to run 750's! AND THEY'RE WAY OFF THE PACE! mechanical grip is WAY ABOVE the i4's. Hence higher corner speed. @ 636

Good gawd, please shuttup!
You post absolute rubbish, & you seem to have a endless supply of it to add to every single story.

Checa is on a 1098R. It has an 1198cc engine.
Surely anyone 'following' the sport knows this!!??
