It seems like yesterday when Carlos give an emotional press conference on his decision to keep racing (after a bad crash with internal injuries that nearly took his life). His father was in tears in the background....

These guys are tested more than any of us can imagine. Congrats Carlos!

Great work, Chubby Checa! The last couple of years, but especially this year, the ex-GP guys have really shown their mettle in WSBK. I love WSBK for the close racing, the 2-race format, and the street-based bikes, but you have to admit that the GP riders seem to be one step above in ability, which they should be as GP is the premier class. Still, the best of WSBK can dice with the best GP boys on the right day, as witnessed by Ben Spies and Troy Bayliss in recent years. Anyway, I've been a Carlos fan for years, and I'm so glad he put this awesome season together. Keep givin' 'er in 2012, man!

Class act Carlos...well deserved World Title!! Took the title with a double...loving it! I wonder if Ten Kate and Honda are wondering "What if...?" but truthfully Carlos' riding style may never have bagged a title on a Honda...the ducati played to his strengths and the combination of consistency, skill and a determined Checa handled the business like a champion should!!
Much respect and hope you can stamp the authority on next season.
Go Checa!!!!

Congratulations Carlos. I always loved to see the new young phenoms like Kenny Roberts, Freddie Spencer, Kevin Schwantz or Valentino Rossi arrive on the scene. I still do, but this is better.

Winning on the best bike with your main rival having injury problems.

As undeserved as Lorenzo's title in 2010 and Hayden in 2006 with Capirossi's injury.

Well doneCraig, there is always one miserable, cynical, mutha out there and I was beginning to think that this thread had escaped it but boom, up you pop.

As usual from the nersayer's you are also talking complete and utter bollox and not just regarding Checa's titles but all three that you mention.
