I have no idea how Ducati are competitive in the STK1000 class because in road trim the 1198R is definitely not competitive with the BMW. The Eurosport commentators remarked during the last race that only only a couple of old Ducati 1198R's are competitive - presumably very heavily breathed on by the factory (but all within the rules of course). They found that strange and so do I.

or is it...?! :)

remember road trim ='s ON PAPER. however, on a short circuit things get a bit more complex. if it helps, don't confuse "not having an idea" with being the same as "an answer doesn't exist". one does. ducati figured out early on that gauging everything by the F1 yardstick of more pistons/more revs is to miss the point. ahhhh so... and therein lies the magic of zee "zwie zylinder". no motorbike has ever really NEEDED more than 2, we just WANT more than 2.
