Marco Melandri wins the final round of the 2011 World Superbike Championship season, with Eugene Laverty making it a 1-2 for Yamaha on its WSBK swansong.

Really impressive goodbye from Yamaha (hope the team will continue with their bikes and the factory effort will return soon). We could see how determined Melandri is, wich can be useful with BMW, but also that how bad team-player he is.

interesting race. Watched it full. Melandri in full form. WSBK is the best racing in the world. Hope Yamaha comes back in some form with some factory support like Honda. But their riders r gone. Doesnt seem Yamaha will have as good time in 2012.

Shame on Yamaha for getting out, they had a very competitive package this year, with excellent riders. At least they would have given the bikes to the ParkinGO-team...
