Next season will be interesting because it will show exactly where Leon stands. He has always done very well, but has never had a team mate that really threatened him. If he can beat Melandri then MotoGP team mangers will take notice (the same goes for Rea).

This team seemed to test endlessly last winter & where it get them?
I can imagine the same again in 2012, they will start strongly & then drop-off the pace

If they are going to be testing along side the BMW-Seuter bike that Edwards is riding, and they are using the same electronics, Then I'm going to guess they may trade info on the setup of the engine. Would be a good idea for BMW to have two riders giving imput to the electronics who are used to the new electronics they are using. It's only speculation, but would be good for the sport to have BMW with a decent bike on the grid up front fighting for race wins.

@Steve.
Apples and Oranges.
CRT, Bridgestones, 24L fuel, 120km race, 12 engines
SBK, Pirellis, 24L fuel, 100km race, unlimited engines

As the season progresses, the CRT teams will get a better idea of the finicky, super stiff Bridgestone tyres and tune their frames to suit.

But agreed, the WSBK will probably be faster.
For the moment, the CRT comparison has to be to Moto2.

I like Leon (I also like Ron and I like Ollie and Marco Melandri). Leon is a great bloke, with 2 lifetimes of experience from his own career and from his Dad's via his genes. There is no-one who works harder and at Motorcycle Live he was looking really toned and fit. But I have these nagging questions - does he have a championship in him and has he been too long on a midfield bike? I am really looking forward to seeing how far the competition between Leon and Marco Melandri can raise their games.
And I REALLY like Manuela!

The BMW Italia squad have been using Magnetti Marelli, and they did very well (they also have all of the right data tech's from the days when they ran under another manufacturer).

The works bike with the right TC/electronics will be very good indeed. THis is believed to be the ony stumbling block (the beemers seem to be do very well in Superstock and road racing).

Look forward to the pocket rocket kicking back side, with less bike related woes.

BMW to test at Jerez with Magnetti Marelli should have been the headline.
Lets hope the Magnetti Marelli sorts out the Beemer, it's been a good bike but just not a race winner.

Leon V Marco entertainment in itself:)
