have any of you thought that those people (and max) built the team from nothing to become world champions in a very short time, and now might want to move onto a new challenge.

Looking at how the team came together and then stuck with him for the whole 3 years and how well they all celebrated together in 2010, id say he was quite popular.

As ever people are believing what a few paper selling journalists have said about max, rather than what he may or may not be like. Like kimi, jv, fernando, edwards, foggy and rossi also he is a rider that does things his way. And how he developed the bike from nothing to winning in 2 seasons proved he aint to bad at it! If yamaha had listen to him in moto gp they might of won more during their time together.

Yamaha finally got it right when they hired rossi and DID listen. With max they were still to stubborn.

remember fernando alonso had the same reputation before he went to ferrari, despite his success at renault.

and now ferrari love him also.

shows some journalist know very little about what goes in these teams

Hemmy:

For a long time it was widely reported that the earth was flat and uneducated gulpins believed it to be true, look how that panned out......

If the bike really were inferior why would Eugene say it isnt? It would surely be more beneficial for him to have everyone believe he was riding a slower bike than Biaggis

Make no mistake, Philip and Marcus stripped Camiers bike to satisfy themselves that their machine was as good as Biaggis, the times from the test seem to suggest it is......

It is interesting, lot of people know nothing about this thing but they immediately see Biaggi as reason why his crew is leaving. It is Sandi who had dispute with Aprilia, and as a result he left this factory and together with him few more people. That is real story, it is not about Biaggi! And about Biaggi - during his career he had a lot of teammates - f.e. Checa, Tamada, Hayden, Kagayama, Xaus, Nakano, Camier. Only Hayden defeated him in very special year 2005. Do you really think Biaggi was always better because of some technical advantage?! Who is Biaggi, and who is Camier? Biaggi does not need any advantage to beat rider like Camier...

Wow. There has been no indication whatsoever that there has been a problem with Max yet people are so quick to say there is an issue. Anyone with a motorsport brain would see these moves for what they are. Career moves to the top of the class. Anyone would be remiss in not taking a opportunity to go and compete in MGP. Silly comments from the naysayers.

Max and Aprilia will have their work cut out for them but no doubt they will find the right fit for the team. Aprilia seems to have a lot of success in this area.

The other thing the short sighted amongst us are missing is the knowledge Aprilia gains from these long-standing employees going into MGP. If, or perhaps, when Aprilia makes a return they will no doubt be looking to these long time Aprilia employees for functional guidance be it on the MGP or WSC platform.

there are no "new challenges" in the niche business of motorcycling... only outstanding chances of finding yourself unemployed.

true. no RECENT indication. that being said, our willingness "to rush to judgement" still falls squarely in max's lap. the boy has a history. it was his to define or "redefine" if that be his choice.

This speculation about why they are leaving is nonsense.

Love him or hate him Max is a quality rider, and we all should appreciate having him in the WSBK lineup.

He does behave a little strange at times, like being black flagged for not taking a ride through penalty. But I call that entertainment!!
