Always a class act. Who can forget him cradling a fallen Bayliss during race 1 at Imola back in 2001? It was Troy's mistake that led to Regis crashing out but instead of throwing a tantrum or prancing around in disgust, he immediately went to check on the condition of the fallen Bayliss.

Road cycling is very tough but it does actually imrpove physical fitness a lot. That said, it's not safer (if not more dangerous) than racing motorbikes. Especially racing downhill over what - 80-90-100 ? kph- with only lycra, half gloves and a polystyrene helmet. But the joy is undebatable, and he has found something in it to fill the void, and since no one can tell us what we can do with our life or not...
