I am a loyal Bayliss Fan , every time he saddles up , I'm for Troy any time he rides . The 990 he rode was nothing like the 800 . Troy was not crap on the Desmosedici , he just wasn't great , Capirossi rode that bike like a man with a point to prove . Troy got back on the same bike 2 years later and destroyed Capirossi ( another hero )while Hayden backed down to save a title and avoid any carnage . I'm a true blue 'Merican Nick fan , but Sete Giberneau robbed Capirossi of that title and Nicky took it . Capirossi was robbed , but Bayliss handed him his ass on that day . It was a glorious day .

Agreed! fav ride ever!!

Considering his late start in the sport, I think he was in his mid 20s before he started road racing.

Considering he only actualy did 2 full seasons in moto gp his results were not terriable. 1 st season he had 3 podiums, the bike was ok. 2nd year the bike was rubbish, but his results improved at the end of the year as the bike got better finnishing the year off with a 3rd and close to the leader. He did badly on the honda but he didnt even get the chance to do a full season due to injury. And showing up for a 1 off race in moto gp and winning under normal racing conditions just showed ducati they should of stuck with him cause he had more to offer, I think it was checa that replaced him and his results were no better for years.

re: "Unretire,Troy!"

STAY retired Troy!

don't be suckered bayliss. with 4 championships to his credit, as long as he stays retired, "fandom" will continue to love him and "star-ef" (ie. upload cash to him and kim) from a distance. if he comes back, we will cannibalize. we will turn on him like a rabid pack of dingoes (and he's probably seen this once or twice down under). his job now is to actually DENY us familiarity.

observe the stark contrast in opinions towards him and his 4 titles...? and the opinions toward rossi and his 9 titles... and yet both are basically ducati riders...? they are setting him up for a fall. the end game of "building him up" is specifically geared to "tear him down". it's a documented fault in human behavior. for some reason this failing is even GREATER in motorcycling...?
