Samurai of slide? Most exiting rider on the planet?
All he did was back it in, at the same time in the other series McCoy was backing it in drifting it out.
They stuck the Samurai of slide on the same team and a factory bike compared to McCoy's 2 year old works bike he couldn't even get it going fast enough to slide on ice.
Sorry but Haga didn't have it, bottled it when needed to keep his head. People say that he was robbed in 2000 but he would have gone into the last round 2 points down if they gave him his points back and took edwards 5 off him, we know what he does when he is in front in a championship battle.
The championship will be fine without him, he is hardly a sponsor magnet is he?

Sadly all good things come to an end. If he wants to keep racing, I hope he gets a good ride in another series. If he does retire, I hope he enjoys the next chapter.

Thanks for the show and the memories Nori - you'll never be gorgotten.

But the racing goes on and there will be much to look forward to - retirement or not, nothing will stop me watching bike racing.

"People say that he was robbed in 2000 but he would have gone into the last round 2 points down if they gave him his points back"

I'd like to echo this, people seem to think Haga would have been champion in 2000 if he hadn't been disqualified. In fact he would have gone into the last round trailing Edwards on points, look it up if you don't believe it.
Still, Haga is one of the greats and he will be missed, hope he gets a good ride.

I am gutted, knew it had to come to an end at some point as nobody goes on forever. Thing is, last year when they (allegedly) gave him Biaggi's bike he was right up there. He's still younger than Biaggi and i believe he still has something to offer the series even if he wasn't going to win the title this year.
As for the critics, crawling out of the cracks to have a dig...get a life, Nori has entertained us all over the years...his dices with Bayliss were awesome and whether you support him or not you must realise that the series will be losing something by him not being there.
Saw a pic the other day of his oldest boy on a bike, on track with the #41 plate, give it a few years we'll have Haga mark 2 to support :)

Its always a shame and a sad state of affairs when the curtain comes down on a glittering career. Haga carries the tag of the "nearly man" for obvious reasons. Although he didn't win a WSBK title, Nitro Nori's larger than life presence added a special ingredient, a strong sense of anticipation and excitement to the paddock. Nori will be sorely missed because he raced with such gay abandon. He always kept me on the edge of my seat because you always expected the unexpected when he was around. I hope he will be able to secure a decent ride somewhere. I'm just delighted that two Suzukis will be making up the field. I fully expect Hopper & Camier to deliver some decent results with Yoshi power under them. We'll miss the Yamahas as well. They were properly sorted and left the series abrubtly...

Don't know if it's true, but I've heard several times over the years that Haga has very high wage demands. I wonder if that has contributed to him not getting a ride??

We all know what Bayliss, Biaggi and Checa have done in their late 30's, so there's still time for him to do something memorable!

Haga is also rumoured to cost a fortune to hire (rumoured 1m) bear that in mind if it was your money you were spending?
Iam happy to ride with the number 1 plate for free if required!!
