OH YEAH 66!!!

I know it's only the first head to head but looking GOOD!!! That bike looks mean!
I am so happy we're getting some WSBK action again!!!!

Bring on the next 2 days!!!

I just hope he keeps this up for the rest of the season, and this is a sign of his intent.

Sykes always goes well in the wet and Kawasakis generally come to the fore in wet conditions, lets hope they don't fall too far back when they get dry time...

These tests look like quite a good benchmark given that only Castrol Honda is missing from the top teams. Tom Sykes has always been fast over a single lap, but his problem is race management and tyre wear - they should work on that rather than looking for a hot lap time. Not good conditions, but it's good to see Norge and the 2 BMW's up there. Hopefully the rest of the test will have better conditions so that we get a better indication.

@ pietester

Only the start of the day was wet. The fast laps were done in dry conditions.

@ Sweeble

That is very true, though, according to Sykes and Kawasaki, since Provec took over, in the last two tests last year they spent a lot of time working on long runs and were getting really consistent, fast laps in warm and cool conditions. I wish they had live timing or a way to get a breakdown of laps.

But my hopes are high, things look good. GO TEAM GREEN AND THE GRINNER!!!

PS. This is specially nice to see, considering this track has NOT really been good to either Kawasaki or Sykes in the past two years... They've always looked like struggling to keep up.

Is anyone surprised by this? Kawasaki has been setting almost record pace lap times throughout the off-season. Granted, those times were unofficial. Provec must have brought some new electronic expertise or something but all the established wisdom about Kawasaki this or Kawasaki that has to be thrown out because this seems to be a very different team.

Well he wouldn't have achieved THAT on the Pirelli Angel ST tyres MCN just announced as its game round prize.

Apparently the team with the most points gets a pair.

The guy who comes second probably gets 2 pairs :p
