a very interesting and impressive set of times and performances most notably from tom, max, camier, laverty and haslam (the latter two dertermined to start off the season with title aspirations or top three in the championship at least).

however, the injuries may start to tell over a race distance, but i think they'll get in to top ten alright.

Good to see Camier in 6th on the Suzuki. Max is holding station, still too many Ducatis.

Only 1.088 seconds separate the whole of the Superpole contenders.

Nice work by Sykes. He has been consistently impressive on the Kwak, yet never seems to be in the conversation about top SBK riders. Look where his teammate is.

you spend fractions of a second at top speed. you spend the rest of the lap accelerating, braking and cornering all of which the duke is superior. top speed really doesnt mean much.

im amazed this has to be explained so often. you would of thoughts years of 'stoners ducati is so fast in speed traps' then to find anyone else couldnt get it to even look at a corner might of taught them something about what makes a bike go quick around a track...clearly not.

obviously quick in a straight line is nice. but it certainly isnt what makes for a quick lap time. ask vale.

@ dsmc

I couldn't agree more. I think Sykes deserves a lot of praise. No matter How often people doubt him he keeps pushing that bike up the order. Maybe people are stand-offish because of his previous form, But that's now been shown to possibly be more team than rider? I hope if he gets some top race results, as i've always maintained he will, people might start showing him some respect!

Amazing time, go Tom!
