Well, I just said at the McCormick article that I hope they won't run out of resources... Poor Sandi is in a bad situation now, I think none of the main championships have empty places so late. Hope he will find a ride soon, a talented young rider.

Yes, my first thought was that the Pangiale is a dog of a race bike, and that's why Checa didn't want it in WSBK, and now even a top Superstock team doesn't want it. Are Althea using it in Superstock?

Even if it is a good bike, it's not good PR.

I've just read that Kev Coghlan is riding one in Superstock this year. Good luck to him. Good rider.

the Panigale as a stocker will be awesome, however for WSBK it needs development and Checa doesn't want to develop a bike, he wants to be on a proven race winner from the off to defend his title! They could have made the Panigale better than the 1198 towards the end of the season but that might be too late for them to catch up lost ground so not a risk they wanted to take.

This is also sad for De Rosa, because earlier this week it was being reported that Sandi and De Rosa would be on Superstock bikes for Effenbert.

However I think the logic is that running McCormick in WSBK they will get more exposure for the sponsor as the WSBK is more heavily televised.

Maybe they are launching the beer in Canada?

Ducati Corse have built 4 Panigale race bikes which will be used in the BSB series. John Hackett has said they will run as stock engines as possible (he has said cams, rods, pistons etc will remain stock with just blue printing)- presumably to reduce costs and because they think they can be competitive.

Ducati chose not to Homologate the Panigale for WSBK for 2012 - and from what I have read the organisers have not yet agreed how the bike will be handicapped when it competes which will presumably be in 2013.
