I didn't hear anybody bitching about when Max's Aprilia blazed the entire field at Phillip Island. The Ducati is a bike with good tire management characteristics and good handling. That's where Checa makes up the ground.

the second race was much more entertaining and i agree with u sick cylinder, how the rsv4 didn't seem to be able to get the power to the tarmac as easy as bmw, kawasaki and of course ducati when exiting the corners. eugene must have been disappointed to drop back as far as he did when in both races he was right with max at the start. again this shows the aprilia isn't as guaranteed a winner as most people think -perhaps it's max's ability in riding and setting up such an unforgiving bike! checa put on some great overtaking moves even though the duke always seems better able than other bikes to dive up the inside and tom, haslam and max pushed as much as they and their bikes allowed really. very close with four different manufacturers up front. shame no yamahas. hope honda and suzuki can return to form in upcoming rounds to add to the competitiveness of the series!

as far as the almost unresolvable argument about the clear ducati advantage over a season (in my opinion), i feel it is best summed up in the statement of how ducati must always be not only a challenger for podiums or wins, but the title every year, otherwise they claim to be unfairly penalised. this a bit of a cheek as other manufacturers simply have to build a better bike or run a better team and rider, putting in alot of work in the process! btw max was winning races irrespective of whether the supposedlly cheating gear driven cams were present or not as anyOne who paid attention in 2010 would have noticed. it's a fast bike within the rules... no special favours.
