Having taken a popular victory at Imola in 2011, Honda's Jonathan Rea is unable to challenge the leaders at the same circuit just a few months later.

The guy is capable of winning the championship, shame Honda don't provide him a proper machinery. I think he stays with them only because they're feeding him with some future MotoGP plan

Jonny. Time to give the big H the boot. Even their Golden Boy , Kiyo, has failed and been relagated to the scrap heap in some 2nd rate Asian Championship. Loyalty is worth **** nowadays. If you're winning Honda will always want you back. Get on a bike that allows you to win. At the moment Ten Kate hasn't got what it takes.

Rea need to step up this season, he is capable of winning races but sometimes you need luck. Get stoner and you might win the championship in wsbk but it won't happen. Send rea, haslam and sykes in motogp.

Hindsight is 20/20 and all but you have to say staying with Honda doesn't look like it was a good move at this point. Rea is so much better than what he can show on the Honda.

You have to ask the question - is it the actual bike or has Ten Kate just lost their way the last few years? After JT's title Ten Kate superbikes have been a mixed bag. They've had some very capable riders that just can't seem to put it together on the Honda.

looks like more bandages for rea this year having to over ride the honda to stay in touch,he came to italy after winning last yrs imola race, had that race winning pace, improved on that pace this year, and thought he would have a shout for the win,but he says everyone else has got so much faster, with vast improvement from 2 kawasakis,2 bmws, and the usual aprila and ducati, podiums are much harder to get, never mind wins, while checa et al are riding near 100% to win rea has to ride 110% to hang in there, hope TK pull something outta the fire for rea, even his highly rated team mate was about 3 seconds a lap slower than rea, tenkate need to get it together soon

Give Rea a Kawasaki and he'd highside it just the same. His temperament is what's causing it all with to many big statements in winter testing that he can't back up.

Put Stoner on his his Honda and well you know the rest. WIN WIN WIN.

@ zane, they have similar styles, thats why rea got 5 days testing on it ,when stoner could not test it due to test restrictions,(800cc)the big difference stoner rides his honda hard and it goes well, rea rides his hard and it spits him off, poor bstard,if anyone doubts it way is his highly regarded jap team mate near 3 sec a lap slower

I honestly believe Honda have put Aoyama in the Ten Kate team this year to judge just how good Rea actually is. It is no secret Honda rate Rea highly and once again he's proving himself to be much quicker than whatever team mate he has, including a Certain Mr Checa a few years ago.
