Sykes gets the lap record and yet breaks it again (unofficially) in testing?! The underdog is starting to make the front-runners take notice I think, and maybe he'll even pull it out the bag and get top brit in the final standings??? Early days yet.......

Unfortunately they need to make the tyres last for more than half a race, fastest laps and pole positions sadly don't count for nothing points wise!

@markyP - Sykes has speed no doubt about that, but he burns up tyres so fast during a race all Checa does is wait till Sykes tyres have gone and he slides past for the win -- Maybe Sykes should follow Carlos for 3/4 of the race - save his tyres then pass and try and pull away. we saw this at P.I. and Imola last weekend -- cant Sykes work this out??

Where did that time come from Camier!? Shame it appears on monday and not the race weekend. Hopefully a better round for them next time out. Great to see Sykes there again, fingers crossed he can turn his clear pace into a few wins

Wow shows how far Sykes has come when he's to be disappointed with pole position and two second places! Are there no points towards the championship for second places on only the second round??

@ Fergs:

Good point. He could maybe follow Checa to see where Checa's good and where he's not so good and then make his move with a few laps to go. Maybe even ride smoother like Checa because he looks quite aggressive on the bike as opposed to Checa or Biaggi. But then again it might just be the bike's aggressive power delivery. Who knows??? Here's hoping Sykes clicks with the bike at Assen.
