Puts a knot in your stomach when a rider suffers any kind of serious injury. Joan Lascorz was in a bad accident at Silvertstone a few years ago and was set on fire. I was right opposite and it was horrible! To now have this happen is just awfull! I hope to God he is OK!!!

Just saw a pic of what is left of his bike. Looks like a nasty one. Fingers crossed he can recover.

The official line remains that he is asleep and awaiting a CT scan but Spanish news ABC.es are reporting paralysis from the neck down. :(

Hoping for a miracle.

I don't often agree with you, but this is a moment when we get to put all opinions to one side. No fan, no matter WHO they support, would ever wish this on anyone. This is a terrible terrible thing and hopefully the collective hopes and prayers of everyone can force a miracle for this young man.

As for his silverstone crash, was it Donington where he got clipped by Laverty and ended up getting run over??? No manner of luck.

GOOD LUCK, GOOD WISHES. Strength.

Thoughts with Joan and Kawasaki. Horrendous season last year and this one has started pretty grim also.

What is worrying is the way the boys get viciously spat off the bikes these days often with massive highsides. Way past time that traditional tyre construction and rear suspension mechanics was revisited?

Such a spinal injury is probably careerending.
The dangers are what makes us interested in racing motorbikes but when it goes wrong you ask yourself, is it worth it?

My answer is, I'm not sure..

No matter what you do with tyres / suspension etc you will never eliminate all risk from racing, I don't know any rider that's not aware of the risks involved and that's one of the reasons motorsport is so exciting in the first place but it's still gutting when any rider gets hurt. Here's hoping that Lascorz makes a full recovery and doesnt have any lasting damage. Fingers crossed for you Joan.
