Tom Sykes hopes his exceptional run to pole position at Assen will bring some joy back to the Kawasaki Racing team in the wake of Joan Lascorz's horrendous injuries.

Go Tom Go, it's about time Yorkshire had a SBK champion, Lancashire has two already, so you are upholding the honour of Tykes everywhere ! I was wondering how you were doing at Assen when I drove through Lepton this afternoon ...

"while two good results compared to Checa and Biaggi could well see him become the first Kawasaki rider to head the overall standings in more than twenty years."

Wrong!

"it's about time Yorkshire had a SBK champion"....
As a Lancastrian myself, I feel honour bound to mention James Toseland. I think Sheffield still counts as Yorkshire!

Well, he's a man! I was missing this gesture, so it's good to see he didn't forget about Lascorz, and he's not so cold he seemed. So go Tom, win a race for yourself and Joan!

Well said Ian, Toseland is a hero here... well he was before he moved to the Isle Of Man (beats Monaco for so many reasons)!

Good luck Tom, we're all behind you!
