Carlos Checa says it is his fault he started the second race at Assen on full wet tyres despite the drying conditions.

big mistake but honest enough to take the blame.likely to be at least 30 points off the lead after monza. will have to dig really deep to try and stay in the title race now.

GWS Brett.
Was Checa not also a lap down when he pulled that? Kind of similar to the move Marquez made on Luthi a couple weeks ago, except the edge of the track was not a skating rink for Luthi. I don't mind Checa, but these guys need to be penalized for this IMO. Nothing wrong with the passes themselves, but they can't move across the front of the other rider like that to get the better line into the corner. When you outbrake someone, many times, you have to sacrifice the line a bit.

Not a single word about what he did with McCormick. Even no sorry. That says it all...

I feel for McCormick and it is really strange that Aitchison received a warning for the Smrz crash, but Checa got away with it.

Cant believe he made the rookie mistake of NOT going with what the majority of you rivals were on. Whatever happens to the weather you are all in the same boat. Gave away a heap of points needlessly. Champ or Chump !

it is very similar, except that we cant tell if Checa swerved hard over in to McCormick right as they were entering a braking zone. What makes the Marquez incident so vile is that he intentionally pinned Luthi against the curb and did not allow him enough time to react and thus ran off the track. Checa looks to have just blown McCormick's doors off and he either reacted the wrong way or was denied his intended return line.

I couldn't believe it when Checa decided to go with full wet tyres in what was obviously a dry race!!! What an absolute stupid mistake to make. Couldn't he see that everybody else was either on full slicks, or intermediates!! It was ridiculous to say the least and resulted in Checa being responsible for McCormick suffering the injuries he has done! A complete disgrace!!!
