Best of luck this weekend Jonny, but I have no doubt you will give it your best - hope to see you in the top three!
I don't like watching the starts at this track - the first corner is a nightmare as Jonny says - far too tight for the mad rush !!

Its not Rea's fault he has the weakest motor/bike combination on the grid. They only finished solid in Assen cause thats their home track/massive setup advantage.

While that first corner is a mare off the start there is something special watching these riders haul their bikes up from 200+mph at the end of the straight to make that corner once the race is a lap old. Each lap the rider daring himself to brake just that little bit later or watching two or more riders trying to outbrake the other one.

Fascinating stuff.

They should remove the first corner for the first lap of the race imo, let them go straight on and then move the barriers in place after everyone is through. Shouldn't take more than a minute or so to put them in place in time for the riders coming back round for the 2nd lap

I dont think there is anything wrong with any of the turns @ Monza, its probably one of the funnest to play on the video games as well. Hooking up the Lesmos, sleepy policeman, coming through Serraglio in to Ascari, around the Parobolica, etc..

Variante del Rettifilo FTW!

re: "Rea has broke new ground with the set-up of his CBR1000RR and is optimistic he can continue to make further progress with the Fireblade in Italy."

i was gonna say, go 'head johnny and have gerrit break out the spanners and secretly slot one of those tit CRT engines into your bike, it'll be our secret. :)

then i realized... oh wait... those lumps might actually be in a LOWER state of tune than what you already enjoy in your WSBK spec blade...? scratch that, belay my last.
