I find it amusing that even after Leon has stated - Melandri knows he ****ed up and made a big mistake! Also 'I obviously don't blame Johnny!'

People are still so blind and stupid enough NOT to admit that they are wrong and actually it was caused by Melandri!

Leon has done this to people before! If you run wide and leave a gap without a doubt at this level a bike is 90% likely to have a front wheel up the inside. This means it is the person on the outsides duty to make sure the racing line is clear again before cutting back! Mainly because it is the outside bike that comes off worse EVERY time!

And guess what - it's happened!

Melandri tried an optimistic pass and went wide. But he made sure he would not touch Haslam. He has to try it coz it could give him the W or a 2nd place if it doesnt stick. - BMW 1-2

Haslam knew melandri would do that and his reaction is make room for Melandri and let him pass knowing that he will eventually run wide. He would get the W and his team mate will be 2nd. - BMW 1-2

Rea saw a gap and went too hot not recognizing that Haslam will be going for that apex. Any racer would go for a gap but it is his responsibility to make sure to make the pass cleanly. It is the responsibility of the racer behind to respond to whatever is happening in front, and not the other way around.

We can say that Melandri should have not attempted the pass coz it would make his teammate go wide. But he is a racer and racers will always go for the win.

We can also say that Haslam should have not given space to melandri, but as a racer he knows that making melandri go wide will give him the chance for the win. We can also say that he should have not turned in that apex coz rea will be there, but apparently that is the line he has to take to win.

We can say that rea should have not gone too hot knowing that he would not have the room to make the pass, he is the only one who could have prevented the incident. However, as a racer, we know he will go for the win given any chance.

We can all say that in a HINDSIGHT.

but the racers doesnt have that luxury, they have to act within split second and timidity is never a trait of any racer.

In shirt, it is just another racing incident.

rea came from way back in race one,and cudda tried a move on sykes for the podium, but said it would have been a risky lunge, and he did not try it,in race two he wudda settled for 3rd,only melandri made a wild lunge (again)on his team mate, and both bmws went wide and left the gap,and he filled it, end off.melandri screwed his team mate, not rea

This was not Jonny Rea's fault!! As Melandri tried to outbrake Haslam, he forced them both a bit wide for the turn leaving a gap that Jonny immediately took advantage of (what racer wouldn't?). Jonny kept a tight line round the corner, but as Haslam came back in, not realising Jonny was there, they had contact which unfortunately pushed Haslam off and into Melandri who was still way wide of the corner taking them both out. Jonny went on to win, which is what he deserved! Everyone there blamed Melandri and if you watched the slowmo repeat of the incident, it wasn't Jonny's fault at all as he did what any racer would have done . This is racing and these things happen. To start actually condemning a rider is wrong in my opinion as it is all just split second decision making and it wouldn't be the same if riders had to weith a situation up before deciding what to do. This is what makes W.S.B. so bloody brilliant! MotoGP - eat your heart out!!!

What I meant to say there was even though Melandri was the reason the accident happened, it is racing and you can't start asking for a rider to be banned etc. as all riders have to take risks - it's what it is all about most of the time.
