Shane Turpin will wild-card aboard a Boulder Ducati 1098R for the sixth round of the World Superbike Championship at Miller Motorsports Park.

apparently this guy has tons of laps around miller, that should help him with his times and should be enough to qualify...I think. crazy thing, I've never even heard of this guy, and don't think he has ever raced in the AMA.

Never heard of him. Maybe the AMA front runners like Hayes, Young or Herrin would have been more deserving choices. I don't know how this wildcard system works, usually the best ones of the national championships get chances.

I guess it has to do with Dunlop being the tire sponsor of the AMA and Pirelli being the tire sponsor for WorldSBK, in regards to who gets wild-cards. Would love to see Josh Hayes or Danny Eslick on the grid.

Wild cards are great refreshment for the race but I think they shouldn't be getting points! This way they are just stealing points from regular competetors and maddleing in championship standings. And to be honnest they have quite an advantage, because they are on their home track and for exaple this guy is training there like crazy for past few weeks.

Evry team has one track (has to choose it before season) on which they can test all they want up to one week before race on the track. On the other track it's not allowed to test at all.

This is my cousin Shane. He has the track record set at Miller Motorsports park! We are super proud of him. :) Way to go Shane!! Kick some butt! :) Shane is an excellent racer and we hope he does well
