According to the sbk website, Smrz posted a "brave and committed lap" in wet conditions, so it must have been drying out and he took a risk.

Laptimes therefore practically mean nothing with regards to superpole/race results

Out of all the great tracks in the US, why they choose to race at Miller is beyond me, Up in the mountains in the middle of nowhere, and quite often piss poor weather........................oh yeah Money! lol

"in the middle of nowhere" is 30 miles from Salt Lake City with an urban population of 2.3 million. Miller is a beautiful facility with weather in late May usually in the mid 70's. As usual, nobody has control over the weather and what you see is what you get.
