Ehhhh, it's interesting the choice of words used. Checa wasn't dethroned (...a term that I'd use if he were beaten to the line by another rider) despite the tragedy that was race 2. He'll bounce back! Good job to Melandri and BMW though. Staying on the bike is what matters at the end of the day.

Yeah, yeah! We all know the 1198 is an old bike but remember there is stil the added weight and other limitations placed on the bike. Anyway the Superstock 1000 leader Panigale 1199 is comng next year.
I wonder what restrictions will be placed on that?

One dnf in 2011, four dnf/non-point in 2012 so far - this tells a lot about what advantage Ducati has. Last year he had a superior bike, he could dominate the races and still have something in reserve, now he has to push it to the very limit to be in front and so there is bigger chance to make mistakes. He can't settle for podium positions (especially in favourable tracks), he already has too big disatvantege. I hope he can come back, this year is not very good for him so far.
The top speed of the Duc and the others (even Honda) tells a lot too. And just look at where the other Ducatis finished.

a leopard dosent change its spots, checa has always been a crasher. his bike last year was so good, he didnt look to be trying anywhere and anyone who has watched checa all through his career, like i have, knows checa is as rough as f..k

@ pcxmac

Unfortunately it's hard to explain to most that a highest top speed doesn't mean it's the best or fastest in fact. As I said in another post, should they all run drag bikes? They would surely win then!!!
