Melandri is GP material is sad his not racing against JLo Pedroso Dovi and all the gang up there. I hope he can go back to GP in 2014 with factory BMW I believe he has unfinished biz in GP and in the right environmental he can shy there!

Melandri is a muel, been there and failed. Johnny rea, laverty, lowes, haslam, seeley, farmer, keenan, marquez, etc these are the guys id love to see cutting lumps out of each other in motogp. Exciting riders that man handle the bike stoner style. Not punks like melandri, smith, or gino

@Monza - Petrosa and Dovizioso are GP material because GP sucks (and there are only 10 motoGP...) Melandri will stay in SBK where the real action is. Now that Stoner is leaving motoGP will become a lot weaker and boring than it already his. Dorna knows it. They bought WSBK championship for this reason...

JR could have something to say about melandri,Brno is where he got his first int'l win,+riding around the outside of Max at the last corner there was a joy to behold..

Melandri and Rea are capable of winning races on any bike.. after all it doesn't take a well sorted machine to come too hot into a corner and slow down, sending others wide or ram others to make the turn.

Des,

Sorry Johnny Rea won't be going to motogp anytime soon unless he can win the championship next year. Very inconsistent. All the guys you mentioned except Marquez will not be going anywhere soon and probably even down a level or to BSB. Plain and simple unless you are a series winner you will not even have a chance at a factory ride in motogp as the rules are lame and only allow 4 bikes per manufacturer. Melandri blew his chance in motogp when failed to perform with the honda. I'm actually surprised Hayden is still in motogp with basically no results since his championship.

@Rob

what about Cal. All he's ever won was a superstock title, and he's eying a factory Ducati seat. Rea probably crashes out a lot because he has to over-ride an uncompetitive bike. A team owner could recognize that.

As far as Marco, I think most would agree that bad luck saw him leave GP, not lack of talent or performance, between the crappy Ducati and Kawasaki pulling out late, giving everyone no time to find alternatives.
