BMwrider, it means the rider has had to pay the team, either via sponsorship money or out of his own pocket, to ride for that particular team. It happens in all forms of motorsport these days and only the very top riders/drivers are paid to ride/drive.

Joke of a team. The sack of Guintoli wasn't nice too, but I thought it can happen, there are always riders and teams who part ways. But sacking another rider, Jakub Smrz? I thought he has a safe place, he is Czech and loyal for them from the beginning, a podium and two pole positions last year. Looks like they get rid of the rider who is the most successful at the moment - be careful Maxime Berger!

Note: if it was Smrz who left a team because the owed him money, I totally understand him. Hope he finds a worthy ride like Guintoli did.
