Could this be instructions from Suzuki to get fit for a 2014 MotoGP return? I wouldn't write it off.
Hopkins and Vermeulen or Bautista would be my bets for riders if they do return.

Maybe he will get hired on as a GP test rider for Suzuki? Just a guess, but I would have to think anyone this worn out just can't continue on competing full time. It's a a shame, I've always been a Hopper fan. If he does go back full-time, I would think it would be in BSB. AMA not so much, he doesn't seem to have too many allies there anymore, plus he is above that level. Good luck either way to JH.

The sabbatical is best for him. He can then see truly where he stands and even then a hip replacement is serious stuff. Best wishes to "Hopper" and I look forward to news from him next year!!!
