Before everyone is getting angry about this result: Anyone from the Kawasaki camp and supporters (including me) would have given one kidney at the beginning of the season if Sykes got second at the end of the year, with 0.5 points. I do not feel absolutely sad, not at all. Sykes and Kawa is on full power for next year, they seemed to figure out the right setup for the tires to last till the end of the race and Tom proved to be better, than Melandri, not collapsing under pressure. He wont go into next year as an underdog, but a proper challenger for the title on a very good bike.
Yes, maybe Biaggi did not won this as he supposed to, but Tom and Kawa could also have won more races during this season, not only superpoles to get the title. At the end of the day I think this was not an unfair result, lets hope next year it will be even better for the Kawa- and Sykes-supporters. Thanks to Sykesy, Baz, Lascorz and the whole Provec-team for the uncountable superpoles, the wins and for getting

Cont: Thanks to Sykesy, Baz, Lascorz and the whole Provec-team for the uncountable superpoles, the wins and for getting Kawasaki where it was ages ago, at the top. It was a great year! Now roll on 2013! :)

Biaggi's title, handed to him by EUGENE LAVERTY. That kid let him get past a few races ago, if Aprilia and Eugene played it fair, it would've been Sykes who was champion now. NOT deserved this title by fair play Max and Aprilia..

******* HATE team orders.

Gutted, gutted, gutted is the word. Congrats to Sykes for fighting all the way though, what a valiant warrior he is. Think about it, 1 more point and Kawasaki would've won both Supersport AND Superbike !!

@

Aprilia is a team with a family enivornment, that's why they won both championships... i don't see anything shameful in what happened in Moscow.

and if Kawasaki wanted help for Sykes they should have taken a top rider who could stay ahead of Max, instead of an underage guy who rides almost like a beginner...

I think Sykes was the best rider this season. Before this season Kawasaki had neither title winning pace nor consistency. Sykes literally took them up a notch.

There were many factors outside Tom's control that prevented him from winning. The half point situation in Monza, and then Ayrton Badovini wiping him out at Aragon, and then the engine failure at Portimao, and finally, the rain today. If one of the four had not occured, Sykes would've won.

On the other hand, if you look at Biaggi and Melandri's woes, they were self inflicted most of the time, if not all the time. Congrats to Biaggi though, not many 41 y/o's can ride a bike like that. But for me, the best rider this year was Tom Sykes hands down...

I remember a lot of comments from a year ago which suggest, Max shoult retire, he is too old, Laverty will beat his ass, etc.

Where are theese guys?

BTW Provec & Sykes do a great job this year, and BMW too. But the althea miss something, Guintoli several times was better than them, and not just in the rain.
