Paul Denning: I am extremely disappointed and surprised by Sylvain's lack of integrity and total lack of respect for the mutual commitments made...

@ Dave

agree with you 100% there, obviously Denning isn't happy with Guinters, but no need to go running to the press.
Fans will still love the dude.

Its good to see a rider being able to pick a ride, rather than getting fecked around by teams, as usually happens!!

I agree that airing your dirty washing in front of the media lacks dignity...

However, I can understand Dennings comments. He has already been to the press about the signing, and has used the usual cliche's of how happy he is, how the team will grow and blah blah blah... etc. To have to back track on that must be very difficult and embarrassing for the team. At the end of the day Sylvain did sign the contract, and like everywhere else in life, once you have signed on the dotted line, it is a commitment no matter what else comes along.
Also, Dennings position was made even more tricky by winter testing this week. If this statement hadn't been released there would have been huge pressure on the team answering the question of why Sylvain isn't there? His hand has been forced, and he has done the right thing issuing this before the test starts.

As for Sylvain, I don't blame him for jumping ship for the Aprillia ride, it's a no brainer. However it does damage his credibility... alot

I'm a little bit lost. Either SG has signed a contract and committed to the team or he hasn't.

If he hasn't signed, or has only signed a pre-contract, then as frustrating as it might be for PD, these things happen, and it's natural a rider will want to ride for the best teams.

If he has signed a contract then surely he has from a legal perspective committed himself to the team.

I suspect it's the first scenario otherwise PD would probably be looking at legal action. Either way, PD should not be mouthing off in public. But then he's always been a little bit like that, which is why he's never been a particularly popular bloke.

I wonder if SG signed because he believed he'd be working with Jack Valentine, then changed his mind when he realised Denning would be hands-on again?? Hmmm.

I read it as Crescent had an agreement that they could have pursued, but chose not to if they were't going to get full commitment from Guintoli.

One the one hand, I can see Guintoli's reasons for stalling if another offer has been made, but I can see Crescent's frustration as his indecision prevents them from making alternative plans.

It's a shame as I really like Guintoli, so I hope this other 'deal' comes off because he could end up looking a bit silly.

I don't know whether Biaggi is retiring or not, but in MCN last week (pages 82 and 83) they reported that Camier had been made an offer by Aprilia on race day which he turned down - opting instead to sign with Fixi Crescent Suzuki.

Guintoli was then approached the next day and made an offer, However from what has just happened, it may have been to ride for Aprilia if Biaggi retires. Fixi Crescent Suzuki needed a final decision from Guintoli by the end of last week and when he couldn't give one, as he is waiting on Biaggis decision, they withdrew their offer.

I hope he is not left without a ride in WSBK which sounds perfectly possible.

This is interesting. I think this suggests that Max possibly won't be riding for The Noale Mob next season. Although, that might not mean retirement. What's the chances Ducati are offering Max a huge pile of Euros to peddle round on a works Panigale? He was in the frame to ride for them in 2009 before they settled on Haga.
