Ha, now that's an interesting course of the events! Yeah, I think Max is out of Aprilia and Guintoli will replace him for the next year. But, as MCP says, it doesn't mean that Biaggi retires. I know there were some negotiations over his salary and he wanted more than Aprilia could offer. So Ducati could be a possiblity... :)

I don't think Biaggi has quite forgiven them for overlooking him in 2008/09. Can't see the point of joining a manufacturer with a brand new bike when everything points to retirement now or in a year's time.

I can quite see the scenario that Guintoli is holding out on Biaggi to hurry up and make a decision. It'd be a shame if Guintoli loses 2 rides because Biaggi is being a pain.

Ginters has had more than his fair share of crap rides, and let's face it, the Suzuki is far from being a competitive package, with little or no factory support.
If he has not signed a contract, then he is a free agent no matter what might verbally have been agreed.
Who can blame the guy if he decides to opt for a more serious and better funded opportunity?

As has been suggested maybe Biaggi is not retiring, but Checa is and Biaggi will take his place on the Ducati?

In the summer Checa said he wouldn't ride next year if the Ducati is still carrying a 6kg penalty.

OR - as suggested Guintoli is going to Ducati to replace Checa.

Subject to availability from WSBK - with his MotoGP experience he would be a better standin if any of the MotoGP guys were out with injury and also a better test rider than they currently employ.

I dont think Checa was too happy about the new Panigales performance ....and judging by all the focus on sorting the Ducati MGP bike perhaps he is right to be worried.

Maybe Checa is having second thoughts and Ducati want a seasoned campaigner like Biaggi to sort the Panigale (lets face it he did a grand job with the Aprilia)

I'd love to see Ginters at Aprilia - he is soo overdue a decent bike and some luck.

Not great backing out of the Crescent agreement...but i dont suppose he could turn the possibility of a factory ride down (with either Duke or Aprilia)....and he has been on the wrong end of teams backing out on agreements in the (recent) past.

I suppose all will come clear in a few days

Sylvain clearly doesn't feel the same way and is prepared to ignore a handshake, a gentleman's agreement and indeed a written contract and that's a great shame.

A written contract is not a signed written contract, so in essence i can write a contract for any of you and be disappointed when you don't sign it.

Coulda been done better but i'd rather see Tommy on the bike....anything but that CRT nonsense

1. I think Motomatters report this last week. IIRC Biaggi was undecided if he was going to retire. He might do another year, In which case Guiters would be left high and dry.

2. I think Paul Denning has to make a lot of noise about this as Suzuki and the teams other sponsors wont be too pleased. However Paul is an ex racer and he would recognised that Sylvan would want the best ride he could get.

If this is true and Guinters has spat in the face of Suzuki I find it astonishing.
Does he not remember how he was treated by Effenbert Liberty Ducati not that long ago?
I'd have thought things like honour and integrity would be cherished and valued by Sylvain.
