What a complete joke, Donington is a total dump, if that is the best, god alone knows what the rest must be like, sounds like pennies have changed hands to me.

I think we should congratulate Donnington considering where they were a only two years ago. And, in relation to the above comment, don't think that they have any silver with which to grease Infront's palms
Facts were for me, entering the circuit, parked bike , bought ticket and into circuit all in three minutes, and out again onto road in less!
Also, best racing of year, fantastic track and brilliant atmosphere
Silverstone, on the other hand, cannot compare

I had heat stroke and dehydration because the only places to gt a drink at bsb Friday were in the paddock and no signs said it was an open paddock. no signs to where food stands were, i only found out it was open paddock the week after when they finally replied to my complaint.

There is a reason you were in and out within 3 minutes...most of us won't go to Donington any more. It is a s***hole with atrociously rude and unhelpful staff.

I go to 7 or 8 meetings a year usually but the year before last was the last time i went to Donny and will be the last time i go until they make an effort to sort the place out. They may be skint but helpful staff don't cost any extra money, they just need properly managing.

Donington's saving grace is the amazing track, the rest of it is appalling.

Sad but true

Have I been to a different Donington to the other posters? Yeah, it's not Silverstone but thank God for that.

Silverstone is soulless,featureless and boring.
Donington is a great circuit and could be even better if they somehow 'opened up' the Melbourne loop. Those two hairpins are 10mph too slow, but otherwise it's a great circuit.

I always take my own food & drink. Spend a fiver in Tesco for a day's worth and you're set.

I've been to both Le Mans and Valencia and neither are much better. Oh, and if you want bad organization try motocross! Short circuit chaos ain't nothin' compared to that!

Jon i have been going for years and i agree that the track is awesome as i have already stated in my first post.
Silverstone is not a great viewing track...and it is vast so hard to make the place look or feel full without F1 there and to a lesser extent MotoGP.
However the staff at Silverstone are incredibly helpful and the campsite is the best one in the country in regards to ones by race tracks.
The best of everything is MSV tbh.....Brands GP circuit for BSB is awesome. I wish WSB still went there as that was the best weekend of the year :)

Well Donington WSB wouldn't be very hard to organise, a total crowd of 25 and a dog cannot stretch it too far. I agree Silverstone has no atmosphere for WSB again its a lack of poeple, its different when the GP is there. Like many say Donington is a dump compared to Silverstone, the track may be very asthetically pleasing but too much stop/start.
Remember this was decided by IMS, Donington were probably the only ones who didn''t argue about paying and gave Flamini a free bottle of champagne.

This award was made from an organisational point of view, it has nothing to do with the spectator/paying public experience.....which is a pity because that is all part of the overall package. Donington is in a mess, we all know that, but considering the state Gillet left it in we are lucky to still have the circuit at all. I would rather give them the benefit of the doubt and time to improve the circuit facilities over time, especially given their financial constraints, than demand instant gratification. I've been there twice this year and the staff, security etc have been helpful & friendly, its the circuit spectator ammenities that are badly letting it down but I believe there is a programme in place (already started on the infield)to gradually improve and reinstate where all the damage was done.

Agree with pp916. It was left a complete wreck by that **** gillet so it needs time to prosper again. We should all support the new owners so donnington can have the opportunity to once again be the heart of British Motorsport.
