Oh come on - who wouldn't try to get away with not paying tax if they could??? Highly paid people normally have "advisers" so most of the time it is their so called advice that they take when getting involved in this kind of thing. There has got to be loads of others who are in the same boat, but just not been found out yet!

Never say never

Would you not think he would have learnt off the stuff Rossi went through. Geez how dumb are some people.
Bad year for him, probably the worst. BMW giving him the flick after throwing away the title will be the icing on the cake.

Two questions from me:

1. Was he paying tax in the UK?

2. Is he going to be made to pay the back taxes he owes in Italy? Plus interest of course.

IMHO the latter should be a condition of his suspended sentence. Pay what you owe or you go to jail.

@herewego the point is that these crooks always try to blame their advisors. We've seen it enough in the UK in the last few months. "My advisors told me to do it, I didn't know it was illegal." Ignorance is no excuse in law in any country I'm aware of.

That's right Marco, the big boys did it and ran away.

They don't need a suspended sentence of that length. Better a sentence just long enough to screw his season next year.
