Guintoli has been an all round class act.
Quality racer with no strops or drama even when he got shafted, just picked himself up and carried on outperforming his bikes.
All the hallmarks of a future champion and a bl00dy nice guy too. What more could you ask?

Tom Sykes... Hands down.

Biaggi's consistency was incredible, and with his end-of-season hiccups, Melandri is easily over looked. The top three were all incredible.

Checa disappointed. Guintoli showed his mettle as di Chaz Davies.

SOOO Many impressive riders this season.

PS. Let's not forget Baz's incredible break through.

@ "what he (Sykes) did on a kawasaki was nothing but extraordinary"

kawasaki is an awesome bike, i don't kow what you imply with that comment...

anyway, if it wasn't for the fact that half of the races were wet races,
Sykes would not have fought for the title, because almost until the end of the season he wasn't capable to finish races with a good pace on dry conditions.

he was certanly very good, but he doesn't deserve the title as best rider of the year.

@ spiritinthesky

What you seem to be forgetting is that before Tom, Kawasaki was nowhere... FOR YEARS!!! He almost single handedly developed the bike (I know the engineers do that, but he did the majority of the test riding and got the results).

Wet or not, Tom was there. You also seem to forget the very first round of the season where he came back and beat Johnny Rea. Losing out to Max, who was, quite frankly, unstoppable. Also, the riders he was fighting with are ex motoGP race winners with YEARS of experience over him.
