Good choice. Only issue now will be to determine team leader and as Guintoli has Italian surname, it's a no brainer.... poor Eugene.

Just hope some of the 'road bikes' beat them.

Brilliant news best Ive herd all day. Lets hope htis isn't depending on funds coming and he ends up let down.

Well done Aprillia for actually looking at the talent available and seeing the obvious with Guinster. This is all he's needed for years, I cant wait.

Not been on for a while so apologises if I take a different view I like Ginters and he is talented but unless I am missing something hasnt he been mucking a few teams around off season so perhaps Aprilia should look for someone who stands by his word assuming of course they want him

Think aprilia are deciding if gunters is riding works or satalite, if satalite there will be only 1 factory bike. Think althea will be the factory aprilia in 2014 of not 2013, things are going on behind the scenes.

Everything hinged on Biaggi's decision. Aprilia are now deciding, at a late stage, the best route for future operations. They cannot make a definitive comment on Guinters yet because they have not settled their future structure. Guinters is probably looking for a longer term than just one year and Aprilia are not yet at that stage because they are not even sure, without Biaggi, if they want to run as a full factory or pull a BMW and hand off operations to a Satellite outfit such as Althea with whom they need to settle first before rider commitment.
It is however obvious that Guinters is the target but the contract still needs to be settled and all that is based on the future structure of Aprilia Racing.
