@ nobhead...

Laverty's time was set on a qualifying ie superpole tyre, Sykes was close behind but on a race tyre, both faster than Hayden....its no surprise that Guintolli was slower at the mo he's had very little time on the bike....he will be very quick once he's established in the team and grown fully accustomed to the bike, I'm totally convinced of that.

I know I'll be universally flamed for this but I actually like the headlight stickers.

I've had many race reps and they never look quite right on road bikes with headlights.
From 2013 it means we'll be able to buy road bikes that aesthetically at least really do resemble the race bikes. I like that, good marketing sense.

Touring cars have had headlight stickers for years and they're NOTHING like the road cars! At least superbikes really are derived from the road bike.

Good thinking Jon

Perhaps they'll sell the road versions with cardboard models of all the race specific items (gear driven cams for a start in Aprilia's case maybe) that you otherwise don't get so they're 'just the same'?

...... Idiot

I wonder - do the headlamp stickers have to be the same size and shape as the real headlamps ? If so it would limit the ability to alter air intakes and could make it hard to find space for the race numbers.
On balance, I don't object to the headlamps as there are so many coloured and differently-shaped decals and number variations on the front of the fairing that the numbers are hard to read anyway.
Maybe they should fit REAL headlamps, the flasher button would be real handy when they make mirrors compulsory.
