re: "I think that the 1198 (read 1199) is going to be a right flop!"

look again at that picture. this is WSBK, any kit unsupported will be a flop, in much the same way any kit given ample support can WIN. welcome to 25 years of homologation.

the 1198 has an oversquare bore (for who knows why), but all reviews and reports say it lacks serious midrange and potentially suffers the same front end probs as the GP stressed member design. these were the issues confirmed by checa in testing. the bike did well in SSTK, but we'll see how the design does when fully kitted and pushing at 100%. hopefully, it's a good bike cuz it sucks seeing anybody struggle and not up there in the fight.

i think the "between the lines" of this whole situation is... ducati wanted too much $ for an unproven bike, althea wanted to swap to aprilia with checa and gugli. checa wanted to go with althea and swap to aprilia after testing the 1198 but realized he was stucked with ducati contract. althea got the bike they wanted, lost checa, and decided to run a one man team and roll the dice. good luck to 'em. it'll be interesting to see althea v. alstare next year who comes out with more points. i like batta and was sad to see him go, but the reality

i like batta and was sad to see him go, but the reality is that he's been out of the game so hopefully no team missteps as he gets back up to speed in '13.

good luck to all of 'em. remember guys, '13 is the last year of SBK before Dorna ruins it.

Gaz I think you meant ll99(Panigale) but I'm not sure they'll be worse than the 1198 as the Panigale was built to provide more HP and higher rev range to compete against the 4's. Also at the first test they weren't that far off so I'd be surprised if they aren't competitive. The RSV4 is already proven so should be competitive right of the bat. Should be a good season can't wait.

It's esier to make a fast rider stop crashing than it is to make a slower riderr fast. Guigliano is one of the most exciting new prospect from Italy for a while - on the bigger bikes. Looking forward to him finding his 'way'

@ RSMick

At it again I see?

The grid is currently on 20. Not too bad, considering at least 10 of them COULD fight for wins and more for top 5 or podiums...

That beats the 3 -5 guys in MotoGP as far as excitement.

The benchmark for me is British Superbike Racing, there hasnt been a Spucati or an Apprilla in the top 10 for near 2 years,
Anybody tell me why that is???

that just means you've chosen the wrong benchmark. it happens.
